I was introduced to computers in the 1980s with the purchase of an expensive unit for my children when they were young. As time rolled on, the capabilities of the computer evolved into a powerful learning tool that changed my life.
I am self-trained as are most instructors. With the aid of many books and advanced classes, I have become proficient in Microsoft products, as well as the workings of the PC. I have taken advanced courses and have a vast library of textbooks in my possession. I keep up with the rapidly changing software. Every year there is one or more upgrades that I stay on top of.
I have a BA degree in Education, with Social Science and a Marketing minor. I have been teaching since 1997. I train individuals and groups in their homes or offices. I am an adjunct professor at several community colleges. As a contributing writer for "The Sylvania Advantage", my articles appear under the title, "The Mouse Trap". Here I answer readers' questions regarding the use of their computers.
Recently, The Catherine S. Eberly Center for Women honored me with the Woman of the Year Award for 2007/2008. My professional background includes marketing director, community organizer, insurance sales, teacher, executive administrative assistant and Director of Operations.
